Rich Huls, MNN Executive Director (Top Left)

Rich Huls, executive director of Mission Network News (MNN), hasn’t always been in vocational ministry. With a long history in the health and business sectors, Rich’s most recent role was as a product manager at United Health Group.

Years into his job, he experienced a five-year period of longing to become more active in ministry. In response to this yearning, he spoke to OneWay’s Michael and Rachel Thompson about taking on a role at OneWay.

“Michael, you guys have any place for someone like me?” he recalls asking.

Rich started part-time with OneWay, and two weeks later was laid off from his job.

“What’s significant is that yearning I had had for five years immediately went away when I talked with Michael and Rachel about coming to OneWay,” Rich explains. “I didn’t plan it, and that’s kind of interesting because I’ve been working for thirty-five years and I always have a plan.”

Rich first worked on OneWay’s Operations Team until the organization decided to take on Mission Network News in June 2016. After acquiring the Christian news agency, the OneWay board agreed that Rich should become MNN’s executive director.

“I’ve never felt more successful at the work I’ve put my hands to, and I’ve never felt so out of control of what’s happening,” he says.

“MNN can tell the stories about how Christ is changing lives through [His people],” Rich explains.

We’re so grateful for Rich’s leadership of the hardworking MNN team.
